Methodologies used
The project introduced innovative learning by linking both tangible and intangible cultural heritage to democratic participation. Students took part in creative, interdisciplinary activities such as developing digital city guides, dramatising ancient texts, and conducting oral history interviews. Cross-border peer collaboration and real-life tasks bridged formal and non-formal learning, while placing a strong emphasis on European values. The project fostered mutual respect, digital literacy, and cultural awareness, strengthening students’ critical thinking and empowering them to become active citizens of tomorrow.
Innovation environment
The project linked cultural heritage with environmental sustainability, extending learning beyond the classroom into real-world settings. Students engaged in activities at heritage sites, within local communities, and in international partner schools, fostering collaborative learning and cultural exchange. Everyday and historical spaces became fields for experiential learning, deepening both environmental and cultural awareness. A supportive atmosphere encouraged student voice, intercultural dialogue, and the use of digital tools- cultivating a creative, participatory environment rooted in respect for European values.
Teachers’ role
Educators played a central role in designing and facilitating interdisciplinary, culturally rich learning experiences. Acting as guides for student-led exploration, they integrated digital tools and collaborative methods to enhance engagement. Peer learning and exchanges with partner schools enriched their pedagogical practices, inspiring innovation within their institutions.
Their commitment to inclusion ensured the active participation of all students, including those with fewer opportunities. By nurturing creativity, empathy, and democratic values, they empowered students to grow as active, responsible citizens.
Impact and output
The project had a significant impact on students, strengthening their civic engagement, intercultural understanding, and digital skills. It empowered them to take an active role in their communities and deepened their appreciation of European values through collaborative, hands-on learning.
Educators expanded their pedagogical approaches and reinforced European cooperation. The project also promoted inclusion by actively involving students with fewer opportunities. Its tangible outcomes, such as digital guides and cultural narratives, created a multiplier effect, inspiring broader school communities and local stakeholders to value heritage, dialogue, and active citizenship.
