Summary
During the Pro Tutors Project, our teachers developed skills in using digital tools for language teaching, shifting from traditional to digital, student-centered approaches. They learned to engage students through project-based learning, gamification, AI powered tools and resources, and explored the use of CLIL for lesson planning and assessment. The programme also equipped them with key competences such as critical thinking, creativity, and visual memory, enabling tutors to deliver more effective and modern language lessons.
“I am ready to adopt innovative teaching methodologies. I learned how to use edTech apps and AI tools in ways that make lessons more engaging and effective, and I’ve grown both personally and professionally as a language teacher."

Target group(s)
Five Greek Language teachers who teach Greek language as a foreign language to over 150 learners.
Methodologies used
The project integrated CLIL, gamification, and AI tools to modernise adult language learning. Tutors used platforms such as Genially, Padlet, and Canva to create interactive lessons. Formative assessment was embedded through student reflection, digital quizzes, and peer collaboration. Teachers also developed skills for effective cross-cultural communication, including sensitivity to cultural differences in communication styles, body language, and social norms. Individualised learning plans and tailored strategies for students with special needs or varying proficiency levels encouraged a more active role in the learning process.
Innovation environment
We introduced new courses, including pilot programmes for subjects such as the Cypriot dialect and courses for immigrants, to test ideas and assess their effectiveness. We also hosted presentations on the latest technological advancements in education and explored ways to implement them in our school. Notably, we established a bank of innovative learning materials that will be constantly updated, primarily by teachers who have participated in the training. Finally, we encouraged the adoption of new teaching methods such as CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) in our courses.
Teachers’ role
Our teachers made significant progress in key areas of professional development. We successfully integrated digital technology into language teaching, moving beyond traditional methods to deliver more engaging, student-centered lessons. Upon completion of the programme, all teachers were informed about the actions carried out within the Erasmus+ project. The results were shared, followed by a discussion highlighting the benefits gained, both on a personal and organisational level.
Impact and output
Through this project, our organization successfully built a team of highly trained, forward-thinking educators. They are equipped to meet the demands of modern teaching, delivering more engaging and high-quality lessons through the confident use of digital tools, including AI-powered platforms and educational apps. This transformation in lesson planning and delivery has enabled students to learn Greek more efficiently, in a more enjoyable and creative way, while also fostering a positive attitude towards language learning.
