Methodologies used

The project combined international mobility, job shadowing and peer learning with the development of innovative educational resources for teachers and learners. Participants explored AI-supported teaching, drama-based pedagogy, wellbeing, inclusion and sustainability, linking formal, non-formal and informal learning. They strengthened key competences, including digital literacy, creativity, critical thinking, communication, collaboration and reflective practice, while applying learner-centred, inclusive and technology-enhanced teaching approaches. Through a train-the-trainer model, participants shared knowledge with colleagues, created professional learning communities and promoted lasting educational innovation and the development of life skills.

Innovation environment

The project created an innovation-friendly learning environment by combining international cooperation, professional learning communities and sustainable knowledge sharing. WEF Bulgaria enabled teachers to experiment with innovative pedagogies, AI-supported learning and inclusive practices through mobility, peer learning and job shadowing. Open educational resources, training materials and the Mutual Support Platform for Teachers and Schools (https://www.teacherwef.bg/) ensured the long-term use and dissemination of project results. A whole-organisation approach engaged teachers, school leaders and partner organisations, fostering collaboration, continuous professional development and a culture of innovation that extends beyond the project.

Teachers’ role

Teachers became innovators and multipliers of change by applying and adapting the knowledge gained through international mobility to their own educational contexts. They introduced AI-supported teaching, drama-based pedagogy and inclusive, learner-centred approaches that enhanced learners’ engagement, wellbeing and life skills. Through a train-the-trainer model, participants designed educational resources, delivered workshops for colleagues and shared good practices via professional learning communities and the Mutual Support Platform for Teachers and Schools, developed and maintained by WEF BG. This collaboration strengthened teachers’ leadership, digital competences, confidence and capacity to drive sustainable educational innovation.

Impact and output

The project had a lasting impact on teachers, school leaders and their learning communities. Twenty-four participants strengthened their digital, pedagogical and leadership competences and introduced innovative practices in their schools. Educators from rural and low-resource schools with limited access to international opportunities were actively included. Participants became multipliers by delivering peer training, sharing resources through the Mutual Support Platform, developed and maintained by WEF BG, and reaching over 2,500 teachers nationwide. They also launched eTwinning and Erasmus+ projects, expanding international cooperation and professional networks. The project strengthened WEF Bulgaria’s capacity for innovation and long-term sustainability through Erasmus accreditation, ensuring continued impact and the development of life skills.
